“The art of playing three guitars on one”

Prakash Rawat is a solo guitarist in the two piece desert rock outfit ‘Diarchy’. With some pedal and circuit wizardry, Prakash has built for himself, a way to play the guitar as well as the bass on his Gibson Les Paul studio guitar, to get a soundscape which 3 guitarists would have created in a conventional band setup.

We met Prakash at his home jam pad in Bangalore, had a conversation where he took us through his setup, showed us how he achieves the various ones on one guitar, and topped it off with a guitar playthrough for ‘Rorschach’ , a single from Diarchy’s latest album, which he let us document as well.
